We said goodbye to cousin Melissa and the animals. We drove to Montgomery, AL and walked around the state capitol. We took the pretty drive to Selma and saw the bridge. After driving through the small Mississippi towns and finding no open restaurants we ate at a Popeye's near the freeway. We checked in to our motel in Jackson. Written by Elizabeth Curtis.
You are having a very fun summer
ReplyDeleteHello Ladybug Adventurers -
ReplyDeleteYour postcard arrived yesterday - I like dogs and cats, dolphins and turtles better than a copperhead snake even if its bite isn't fatal... but the copperhead snake skin is really pretty even if its tongue is scarey!
I was in Los Angeles for more than a week - your grandfather painted your new desk and bureau and your father was still sanding and cleaning the walls of your room...
We have a new dog in our house: Tonalli who came from Mexico with Carey! she is very funny and little compared to Leia and Billie. Billie & Tonalli are becoming friends. Tonalli visited your Dad at work!
Looks like you are heading home after all your fun with animals and swimming and fresh blueberry cobbler and thousands of new friends and cousins and aunts and uncles...
Carey, Pico and I were in Selma & Montgomery, Alabama. Did you walk on the state map in the park across the street from the State Capitol? We also went to a restaurant called Martin's and for dessert we had fried cherry pie! We saw the bridge in Selma too but the street along the river was so sad - empty buildings with broken glass. I hope the street has been rejuvenated since we were there. I thought Alabama was very green and pretty - the logging trucks race along the highway!
So much fun to catch up on your the adventures on your blog.
Are you going to get beignets in New Orleans? Pico, Carey & I stayed at the La Quinta Inn there and walked all around and along the river.
P.S. I like the photo of the cat's ear!
