Day 10: Babler State Park, MO to Mammoth Cave National Park, KY, July 2, 2013

We ate our pancakes under the picnic table because it was raining. We stayed in the tent and played Angry Birds. Mommy got in a fight with the tarp because it was wet and muddy and was not being nice. We left Babler State Park and drove to St. Louis. We saw the Gateway Arch, but did not go inside because it was raining too hard. It rained until we got to Indiana. In Indiana we went to the Lincoln Boyhood National Park. We saw some horses and sheep. It was set up to look like his home when he lived in Indiana. We came to Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky and had to set up everything in the dark. We finally got the fire started with little sticks. Written by Elizabeth Curtis. Edited by Laura Curtis.

  1. Did you go inside the caves? Carey and I went to caves in Virginia that were amazing... a place where people have weddings and a sound system that picks up the drips of one spot and broadcasts the tune that is made.
Hope you made it safely to Atlanta - according to the weather channel - rains and flash floods are a-comin'
You are probably happy for a warm shower and home-cooked meal...
    but don't forget: SUBLIME DOUGHNUTS.

  2. We did go in the caves in a 2 mile walk, amazing and very cool. We detoured in Chattanooga since it was flooding in Atlanta. They have even postponed all the fireworks until the weekend because the rains are so bad so we will arrive tomorrow. Did not want to drive that far in the heavy rains... PB&H is a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Sublime is on the list, we went last year on the 4th, May have to do it again! Glad I am not running the Peachtree this year. Utah was unreal, definitely going back there this fall.
