We made peach fritters for breakfast and pancakes too. We went to old town Saint Augustine. We took the trolley tour and saw Flagler College, the Ripley's Believe it or not museum, the fort and the Ponce de Leon statue . We stopped at the Fountain of Youth and saw peacocks and drank water from the fountain so we will be young forever. We learned how the ships came over from Spain in 1513 and thought they were in India and they named the new world la Florida because of all the flowers, it was 500 years ago. After the trolley tour, we got ice cream at Fudge Buckets. We went to St. Augustine Beach and made a sand castle and swam in the water. We drove on the beach and Ruby got sandy. After the beach we took a shower and Leia jumped in too. We went to Todd's house and swam in the pool. Mommy saw a raccoon near our campsite with beady little yellow eyes. The toads and the frogs are talking, they are calling for rain.
We went to St Augustine Beach but it was raining and there was lightening, too. It was beautiful just the same. We also went to the lighthouse but didn't climb to the top. We walked around St Augustine - I don't remember a trolley. Did you go to the fort? Pico couldn't go inside so the Park ranger brought Pico some water and Carey and I took turns looking around the fort. We also visited Flagler College - what did you think? Would you want to go to school in a big old building like that? I wonder if the beds are comfortable...
ReplyDeleteI am having so much fun following your blog and remembering the fun Carey and I had with Pico on our trip across the country.
We did not go to the fort, it was too hot. We loved Flagler College, Elizabeth thought it would be a very cool place top go to school. We could have stayed there a week, it was wonderful there. Very friendly and everyone loved Leia.
