We had blueberry muffins and scrambled eggs with Michelle, Emily and Zachary. We ate lunch at Hobo's cafe in Key Largo. I had Quesadillas and beans. We went swimming at Anne's Beach and we were swimming like manatees in the sea grass. We came to our campsite. We made a fire and had smores, edamame and macaroni and cheese. We went swimming at our campsite, which is right on the ocean. The wind is crazy and our tent is blowing around, Mommy had to tie the strings back on the rain fly and we used the stakes for the first time. Luckily, Michelle, Emily and Zachary are in the tent with us so we don't blow away. Written by Elizabeth Curtis.
I looked you up on google maps...
ReplyDeleteyou're in the middle of the ocean!
if a big ocean liner with a big wake goes by,
water is going to wash straight into your tent!!
nevertheless, what a great place to camp even if there isn't too much between you and whatever winds are coming across the sea.
the satellite view of the Florida keys and Long Key State Park is amazing...
boy, are you having fun!
are the Florida keys a reef?
We almost did wash away, the storm at night was crazy. The winds were between 25 and 30 mph and we were all holding up the tent so it did not blow away. Then the heavy rain came and we ask got drenched. When the thunder came we grabbed our stuff and ran to the cars. In the morning there was a pool of water, half the tent was filed up. We had to pour it out in the morning. Storms are amazing, but we experienced what a hurricane would feel like if you lived in a trailer. Missing the Keys, but glad we are safe and dry. There is a reef justfoff shore, it is an amazing place to snorkel and dive.
